Pete’s Place LLC is looking for two part-time, long-term working students to replace our wonderful working student who will transferring colleges soon. We are located 15 minutes south of downtown Portland, in a renovated historic register barn with indoor and outdoor arenas, large pasture turnouts, and a small cross-country course. Full-service show and sales barn in a relaxed family farm atmosphere. Duties for both positions include AM chores (feed, stalls, turnouts/ins), light-duty farm maintenance, assisting trainer getting horses ready to ride, and some riding depending on skill level. Happy to train the right candidates, requirements are own transportation, over age 18, and enough experience working outdoors to be sure you really like it. Previous riding experience strongly preferred. Bonus points for interest in working with the other animals on the farm as well. Compensation will depend on candidate’s experience, and will also include lessons. Hours for the first position are Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM to 12:00ish.
