Petition text This petition states that the organisers of 1D Day remove their day from November 23rd to an earlier or later date. The Doctor Who 50th Anniversary has been planned for this date, and we as a fan group dont wish to share it with One Direction. With the greatest respect to the fans and the singers, Doctor Who is a British institution seen far more highly in the eyes of the nation than One Direction. Furthermore, One Direction have been around for only 3 years, whereas Doctor Who has been going for 50-2 generations. 2 generations of people have been moved and touched by this, the longest-running and greatest sci-fi show of all time (And space). Doctor Who has shaped peoples lives, becoming a regular Saturday night primetime entertainer. The fact that the reveal of the new 12th Doctor, Peter Capaldi was a live broadcast across the world shows just how important this show is to not just the UK, but its fans across the world. It has made a far more significant impact than One Direction could ever hope for. When we are all celebrating the 100th anniversary of Doctor Who, and where One Direction will only be remembered by those weekly magazines with a CD in it, well see whos day was more significant.
