Pewsey Club members are invited to fish an Inaugural Pairs Competition on SUNDAY 23 March 14. . The match will be a “Blind Pairs”. This means the match will take the normal format of pay pools, draw and fish. After the match all the names will go back into the hat and been drawn again. This draw will determine who has been fishing with whom. Their weights will be totalled and the heaviest combined weight will win the match. This year’s venue will see the match place on the Canal and be pegged from peg 1 at Bristow’s Bridge stretch around the bend in the Canal to 20+ peg in Wilcot road stretch. Pools will be £10 per angler. Book in at Wilcot Road 08.00 Draw will be at 08.15 Parking for Match (suggest low peg numbers Bristows Bridge, higher numbers Wilcot Road) Fish: 09.30 till 2.30pm (5 Hour Match) Pay-out based on 20+ Anglers will be to top four pairs 1. £80 2. £60 3. £40 4. £20 5. A bottle of whiskey to the angler who comes closest to a mystery weight on the day. Results and Pay out + Trophy presentation. All back to the Golden Swan in Wilcot for a pint and results at 3.30. A Pairs Trophy will be presented on the day taken back engraved and presented again at AGM. The winning pair will also receive their own individual trophy to keep and take away on the day.
