PhD-Researcher position in one of the following fields: Arms exports / Arms trade / Base conversion / Disarmament, Demobilization & Reintegration / Security Sector Reform TV-L E 13 / 50 % / Initial contract period: 2 years / possible extension: 1 year Qualifications: - Academic qualification: an excellent master’s degree or equivalent in Social Sciences (e.g. Political Science, Sociology, Geography, Anthropology, Area Studies etc.): G.P.A. higher than 3.0 in the American system, or a grade higher than 2.0 in the German system or equivalent . - Innovative research ideas: Your application must contain a PhD-research proposal. The proposal should describe a research problem you consider interesting and important in one of the above mentioned fields; include your main research questions and the proposed methods linked to them. Please provide literature references as well as a preliminary working plan. There are no restrictions about the length of the proposal. - Excellent English language skills: Please provide language certificates or do a self-assessment using the guidelines of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: (elp.ecml.at/Portals/1/documents/assessment-grids/assessment_grid_english.pdf).
