Phantasmagoria, 2013. The game changing year. Up until this point - TopicsExpress

Phantasmagoria, 2013. The game changing year. Up until this point we had figured out the structures of the show, the characters and the stories. When we arrived at the Didonna household for our first table read of Phantasmagoria 4, we learned that this time there would be an actual plot to take us to the next step in the show. As with the past 3 years, I saw familiar faces as well as new faces. The show included some new characters, The Brothers Grimm (Bill Warriner & Jeremy Wood) as well as our new Ringmaster, Roman (Stephen Lima). We were excited as this was a jovial group. We would need this as the rehearsals that year were the most rigorous out of all the shows to date. We picked each other up when we couldnt ourselves and we never gave up no matter what. The stories that year were: The Myth of Pandora (Hesiod), Willful Child/ How the Children Played at Slaughtering (Bros. Grimm), Der Erlkonig (Johann Wolfgang von Goethe), A Madmans Manuscript (Charles Dickens), Clerk Saunders (Scottish Folklore), The Cask of Amontillado (Edgar Allen Poe), The Legend of La Gargouille (Ancient Christian History) The stories were grounded, violent and unrelenting. They tore the troupe apart leaving only 6 (epilogue on Halloween) to find them and bring them back. I am apart of those 6 and I promise you, for those who have been keeping up with my posts and the shows, this years Phantasmagoria 5 is THE BEST of everything thats come before it. Next weeks post will be something special ;)
