Pharmacy Assistant/Technician PFT - Westmead Reference Number 225012 Employment Status Permanent Full Time Entity Western Sydney Local Health Award Classification Pharmacy Technician - Pharmacy Assistant Grade 1 Pharmacy Technician - Pharmacy Assistant Grade 2 Community Aide - Pharmacy Technician Grade 1 Community Aide - Pharmacy Technician Grade 2 Salary $47,414.00 - $61,189.00 Number of FTE 1.00 Purpose of Position To provide the Pharmacy Department’s basic services, in particular sterile manufacturing and other technical support. This would also free pharmacists from these duties and so make them more available for clinical duties and facilitate patient flow. Further, Pharmacy technical support services are also required to service new and expanded clinical areas. Role: Provision of technical support for the Pharmacy, mainly but not limited to drug distribution, sterile and non-sterile manufacturing. Must be able to work rostered weekends, late shifts, and some overtime. Essential: Must satisfy all essential selection criteria. See attached Position Description and List of Physical Demands Checklist. Note: This position is not suitable for APEC candidates. It is not a laboratory or scientific research position. This position is permanent full time, working 38 hours per week and is classified as a Pharmacy Assistant/Technician Grade 1/2. Please note: To be eligible for permanent appointment to a position in NSW Health, you must have an Australian citizenship or permanent Australian residency. Selection Criteria Demonstrated satisfactory pharmacy dispensing experience in Australia. Must demonstrate ability to dispense medications from prescriptions. Demonstrated good communication skills. Demonstrated attention to fine details and accuracy at work. Willing and able to learn and perform all aspects of manufacturing including cytotoxic preparations. Medical clearance will be required for the handling and preparation of cytotoxic production. Demonstrated ability to work productively under supervision and work co-operatively in a team environment . Able to work on a rostered basis on weekends and late shifts. This position requires a Working With Children Check (WWCC) issued by the Office of the Childrens Guardian.
