Phew – decision made. My girl has chosen local Uni that offered her the course she wanted. Not easy choice as the 3 offers had same choice course but different combinations- we left it totally to her. She gave up offers fr UK though she got what she wanted too-different course but local one is her preferred course. We discussed abt whether we can afford an overseas education. My answer was that it will take up 5 to 8 yrs of our retirement fund. Seeing sister having great time in local Uni n overseas exchange/trips gave her confidence that choosing local Uni is fine. I’m glad to hv her around for next 4 yrs. Meanwhile she is doing a 12-wk local course n going on 1-wk overseas conference-I didn’t hv a chance to object to either one though they disrupt my holiday plan. Prelude to end of parental approval ? Looking to the future with hope, I’m confident she is going to hv a fun n enriching time here probably sprinkled with exchange, summer course, study tours or internship-all probably taking her to different countries
