Phi Delta Phis are saddened by the loss of Colleen Elizabeth Pope Vitu, wife of our sitting International President, Joseph Francis Vitu, Jr., after a lengthy battle with breast cancer. Colleen was a beautiful, kind and vibrant woman whose gentle ways touched many lives. She was called home far too soon. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the “Colleen Vitu Memorial Haiti Fund” in care of the Parish of Saint Francis Xavier, 524 Ninth Street, Wilmette, Illinois 60091. Saint Francis Xavier Parish has had a long-standing relationship with an impoverished parish in Haiti. For years, the Haitian Parish has been educating its children in nothing more than tents, lacking the funds to erect a building. Contributions will go towards the construction of a new building to be known as the “Colleen P. Vitu School”. We extend our most sincere condolences to President Vitu and his family.
