Phil 3:7-9 "But what things were gain to me, these I have counted - TopicsExpress

Phil 3:7-9 "But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith;" Blind Bartimaeus was from Jericho which is a cursed city. His conditions were all negative; from cursed city he was and he was a blind beggar. But, Bartimaeus trusted in Lord Jesus as the authority of the reign and power of king David. He threw away his clothing and followed Jesus, demonstrating his faith in Him, trusting that he never need anything old. Our Lord is Creator. He makes everything New every time(2 Cor 5:17). Grace is New every morning. When we are born-again, we are New creations in Christ. But then, its our part to leave the old, and move towards the goal He has kept for us. Even if you loose everything for the sake of Christ, be happy as your reward is greater in Heaven! Look at Paul (Read Phil 3), and how had he come out of his riches, and considered the greatness of the knowledge of Christ Jesus over and above his riches. Even though we do not have anything, we have everything dear. Do not be disheartened. Give all that you have for the glory of God. Job says, its He who gave, and it is He who takes. Be blessed.
