After spending the last 18 years in prison, following a 1996 murder conviction, Philadelphia rap legend Cool C, 44, has been given a date for his execution. He was handed the death penalty when he was found guilty of murdering police officer Lauretha Vaird, a single mother of two, during a bank heist. Cool C’s Execution Date — Rapper On Death Row Will Be Killed In 2015 Cool C, who was once a member of the rap group C.E.B., was initially given a death date of March 9, 2006. However, the governor of Pennsylvania granted a delay on Cool C’s execution. He has now been issued a new date — Jan. 8, 2015. He is expected to be executed by lethal injection at the State Correctional Institution-Greene.
