In his interview, he stated that the foundation of relief effort is in the local level (really?). Granted that is the case, what was these ON STANDBY and PRE-POSITIONED planes/helicopters and navy boats were waiting for? The typhoon hit landfall early Friday morning, Nov. 8th, and has gone past the country by Saturday Saturday. And it was only yesterday Saturday, Nov. 16th, that postings here on FB were being circulated that a Phil navy ship was ordered to sail from Cebu to Tacloban. Isnt it embarassing enough that Davao City Mayor Mr. Duterte, one closest to the lowest level of elected official in the Phil political system and one with the least resources, arrived in Tacloban city with his rescue/relief team well ahead of a national level managed rescue/relief team, let alone two branches of the Phil military, . . air force and navy . . . beaten badly by the Davao City Mayor ! How embarassing ! ! ! Well mr. aquino, could you clarify your two different statements? Who the hell give the orders for your military personnel to mobilize? It takes less than a day for a ship to sail from Manila to Tacloban, yet your navy was so badly beaten by Mr. Duterte and his courageous, determined and compassionate team, coming from a considerable distance by boat or boat/land travel combination. And NOT ONLY ONCE but TWICE, this time your 20-navy ship was so badly beaten one more time by the US navy vessels that came all the way from Japan and Hong Kong. In your interview with Ms. Amanpour, you never mentioned these on standby and pre-positioned military pieces, . . and based on most news outlets, no one from your senior military commanders has been interviewed either voluntarity or with permission to do so up to this day and date, Monday, Nov. 18, 2013. So, if your navy senior commanders wait for your orders to sail/mobilize, then understandably you being their commander-in-chief, they will not sail and mobilize unless ordered.
