Philosophy - Which kind of love? Jaimie Alexander Is Unlove. Platos finest dialogue, The Symposium, is devoted to love, to the god of love, Eros, and to different forms of love. We, the inheritors of a long Judeo-Christian tradition, might expect to see carnal, physical, love treated as soiled, guilty, something to be despised. Nothing of the sort. but the most astonishing thing is that love in this dialogue takes on a philosophical value, even becoming the representative of our ascent towards the world of ideas, although Plate does not conceal the fact that love is also responsible for delirium and distraction because it first desires beautiful bodies made of flesh and blood, and so falls far short of ideal purity. The expression platonic love is misleading. It implies that Plato completely outlawed physical love, & this is not the ease at all. What is true, on the other had is that he believed that physical love needs to be illuminated by the higher harmony of which it is a reflection. Further, it represents one phase of our ascent towards the beautiful and the good. Undeniably, this conception of love is very intellectual, perhaps too much so. Even in the bible you can find in the Song of Songs, more sensual & carnal evocations of love. Yet the Platonic ideal doesnt lack nobility. It reveals how much philosophy, if it remains in touch with life itself, moves us the way desire move us, leading us to transcend ourselves & inspiring us w/enthusiasm, drawing us towards the divine. After Plato, is philosophy w/o love possible? Isnt love even embedded in the very word philosophy? Yet is it a love young people today would want or could share? Would u consider this meditation too philosophical & too removed from real life? Who is ready to find the reflection of ideal beauty & the good in their girlfriend or boyfriend? Thats too high-flown for us! You will insist. Its exactly this difference that Plato wanted to emphasize. He never sought to rally to his side the majority of ordinary people. His is an aristocratic notion of love (aristos means the best). yet isnt a philosophy that is modern & democratic supposed to agree w/Christianity in advocating universal love? By declaring, Love one another, Jesus has left us an unforgettable command that, alas, is invariably ignored. Why? Yet again, philosophy must take into account reality: the love of ones neighbor is probably too abstract to be genuinely shared. What this debate shows is the extent to which the question of love remains central to philosophy today. Do we know the right tasks for a philosophy way of thinking that is conscious of recent developments & has been enlightened by the discoverers of psychoanalysis & the human sciences? We do know that it should not reduce human love to its most basic expression. It should consider human love in all its different forms with tolerance3 & sympathy & it should give love the chance to contribute again to the search for wisdom. I knew Jaimie Alexander seen NOT want to get marry to Peter Facinelli, so I believe Peter saying NO, hes NOT engaged to Jaimie. And he believe me saying NO to Ellen DeGeneres gave me ring for an engaged/wedding that Im prefer Peter have to ask me to out to eat Hot-Date, so he better chat with me in ASL. I have to shut Jaimies mouth up and better stop it to being jokes with me about being hurt my felt too much that I dont feel better at nothing. I knew I told Peter (Carlisle Cullen) everything in 2012 that what did I saying its Jaimies worse & not clearly, so I won its what did Peter saying Jaimie is worse & not clearly. Um, I doubt Jaimie have hard time with his daughters, so I am prefer Jaimie have to stop being fool around with his daughters how does I noticed some pictures what did I saw. I knew shes opinion that Im fact. I knew he was upset with her from where his small daughter was behind him what did he spoke to Jaimie. I knew Jaimie is dumb. Im prefer Jaimie have to stop fool around to made Peter laugh too much, so its something wrong with her body and mind. I believe Peter (Carlisle Cullen) saying that I am best than Jaimie.
