Philosophy of Education Conference 2015 is looking for volunteer rapporteurs who could make reports of the conference proceedings. Doctoral and Master students of Philosophy, Education and other social sciences disciplines can apply for being rapporteurs for the conference proceedings. Philosophy of Education Conference 2015 is the third annual conference organized by Azim Premji University, Bangalore. The annual conference is part of the University’s effort to enrich the philosophical discourse on education. The previous two conferences in 2013 and 2014 have been very successful and witnessed participations from Philosophers, Philosophers of Education, Social Scientists, and Political Theorists. Some of the key themes that the previous conferences have dealt with include ‘Social Justice and Education’, ‘Indian Philosophy and Philosophy of Education’, ‘Nature of Educational Studies’, and ‘Educational Policies and Philosophy of Education’. The Philosophy of Education Conference 2015 proposes to deliberate upon the three themes; (1) Human Nature and Education: Contemporary Concerns, (2) Ethics and Education: issues in Aims, Content and Teaching, and (3) Notions of Public and Private in Education. The conference is set to witness presentation of some of well-known philosophers, and philosophers of education from India and abroad. A full list of the speakers is available here at: 182.18.153.100/poe/speakers/ The rapporteurs will have opportunities to attend the conference and have a chance to work with senior faculty members on writing of conference proceedings. Reports would be published on Conference Websites. Each rapporteur will be given experience certificate for reporting of Conference Proceeding from Azim Premji University. Rapporteurs would work in a team of two to three members, and each rapporteur would document two sessions of one hour each. Rapporteur will be provided accommodation and 3AC train fare. No emoluments/honorarium will be paid to the volunteers. Requirements for Selection : (1) Applicants are requested to send their updated CVs, and (2) A writing sample of not more than 1000 words on a philosophical/educational problem to demonstrate the writing ability.
