Phoebe update! She is up and about, not napping quite as much! Eating and has normal piles & urine in her stall! I removed her catheter tonight. She only had 2 doses of banamine today! I think she is on the road to recovery and that we caught it soon enough and treated her correctly! :) Basically she had a bacerial infection of some sort and her blood work showed very low white blood cell count. I think she suffers from colitis and maybe has some damage from that happening in the past in a milder form. Then when she was down in the paddock in the rain, she became hypothermic. Which I guess is a symptom of a Toxic enteritis whether you are lying in the rain or not. Warm her up, treat her with fluids, banamine, penicilin, ulcer guard, a strong probiotic and pray for recovery! Lying awake and worrying helps too! Thanks for all of your prayers, well wishes and the cute historic photos of Pheobe! She appreciates the visitors as well! I think she is gonna make it! I should also mention that I am blessed to be surrounded by great vets who I can get on the phone at a moments notice. Dr. Bergsma was not available to come so Taryn Hudgens came to start the IV and fluids. Tram Williams helped us late Sunday night and did her blood work and was a great phone consultant. Ramona Tingdale offered me some great advice over the phone and nailed the treatment plan for me. I appreciate the knowledge and generosity of everyone, Thank You!
