Phones scams claim victims relative held hostage A phone scam just occurred with one of my coworkers friends just yesterday July 21, 2014 claiming they had her brother and wanted $5000. Thankfully someone else is calling the police at the same time she was on the phone with person. Upon local police arrival they told him what happened in the police told him about the phone scam. Funny thing was they knew just enough information to make it seem like it could be true. Pass the word around because this is still happening and has been happening nationwide!
