Photo Contest: 1975 Chevrolet Nova SS Pro Street with 47,000 miles on the odometer. Originally built by my uncle, Chuck Brown, and his bud, Melvin Schwartz in 1984. My uncle raced it in 86. He sadly lost his life in 87, and his car was kept all but forgetten in the garage of the familys Used Car Business. In 2000, I inherited the car, and have been doing what I can to restore it back to the condition he had it, while adding my own personal touches. Ive pretty much rebuilt the whole car, piece by piece. Engine is a solid cam big block 454 LS6 with titanium 3-spring valvesprings, larger rods, flat top forged pistons, steel crank, and topped with a Holley Strip Dominator Intake and street friendly 770 cfm Holley Street Avenger. Transmission is a Stage II TH400 with a manual valvebody and 3000 rpm stall converter. Rear differential is a narrowed Ford 9 with 4.11:1s, and 31 spline Strange Engineering axles. Wheels are American Racing Torq-Thrust II Classics with A/R Carlisle Spinners (15x6 front, 15x14 back) wrapped in Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/Rs (26x6 front, 31x18 back.) Interior has been refurbished, and now sport Procar Scat bucket seats, Simpson 5-point Restraint System. Auto Meter Gauges mounted on center console, with a 5 inch Monster Tach mounted to Steering Column. Mr. Gasket V Matic shifter. Pioneer Head unit with Bluetooth, 4way Pioneer Speakers in the back, Kenwood dual speakers under the dash. In the coming weeks, Ill have my White Pearl stripes repainted, and nicer Hooker Headers installed, and soon afterwards, a full MSD Ignition System will be in the works.
