Photographs can be free to tens of thousands… taking the same amount of skill, time, effort and excellence… but with vastly differing price points. When I was young I LOVED the fact that I am a creative. I can/could throw down on a piano, a drum kit, or the guitar anytime I needed to just put a smile on my face, burn off some energy, or simply add something new to the world. I remember being pulled out of school one day to do an interview on TV about a movie script I had written in the 7th grade. That was a very normal to me and I was in love with my goofy, artistic brain. Time passed. Now, I have kids, and a mortgage, and oh what I wouldnt give to be OK with being an accountant or a manager (of anything)!! I have tried some of that (not the accountant thing though, I just couldnt do it) and I was miserable and completely unsatisfied. I felt very much like the work I was doing was of absolutely no significance what-so-ever. I believe my life would be much more comfortable and secure if I were wired to be content with, and had the health for, a typical 8a-6p, plus some weekends, pick your 6 holidays company man type gig. In fact, sometimes, when I am sitting in my recording studio noodling around, I fantasize about being an accountant or managing a Midas or a Walmart, and how grand my life might be.
