Photography is the simplest thing in the world, but it is incredibly complicated to make it really work.~Martin Parr Today was one of those incredibly frustrating days for me with the camera. I had unprecedented time with Hawkeye (Red Shouldered Hawk) today and had some amazing opportunities for truly WOW photos. I couldnt figure out why the camera didnt rapid fire faster than 1fps. Turns out thanks to the amazing helpful and patient Karen DiNoto that I was recording jpg and raw photos at the same time slowing it down. Fixed that after an hour and nearly in tears at all the shots I was missing. The nest building was in overdrive. After nearly 420 photos and looking at them on the computer I wanted to cry again. I am proud of myself for staying in M mode the entire day. A learning day for me. I picked the wrong day. Ugh. I was desperate to catch Hawkeye flying quickly between trees gathering nesting. I caught him alright. Mostly blurry, a lot of wing tips, some great beak shots...and lots of butt shots. I will need to spend more time looking through them. I spent the second half of the day practicing macro...oh my...why oh why did I buy the macro lens...a few good shots...but so darn frustrating. But I did get this shot!
