Photos of the Precinct generate lots of interest, so heres another one from its early days in the 1960s. This is the bottom end, just as I remember it. Hampsons bakers is just out of shot on the left, and Discland, one of my favourite shops, is behind the photographer. Another memory - upstairs there were a few commercial company offices, and one of them always brought a smile to my face - I cant remember the business but they had a sign saying Branches in London, New York and Walkden!!! (Just like Del Boys van - New York, Paris Peckham - but 20+ years earlier).
