Photos taken as I gave Pilgrim his water. We dont disturb an animal in this condition for a photo so Greg snapped these while I was placing his water in. I am going slowly and watching for a defensive response in case I need to snap back. He stayed relaxed. I think he was just glad to have the hood, beak and foot wraps off. Yes, I am posting a lot on this eagle. You might wonder why that is. Is it because I favor this species? Is it because Im trying to raise funds? Am I showing off that we saved an eagle? Nope. None are me. My entire life Ive been fascinated with Eagles. I painted them, I sketched them, I bought figurines etc. I never saw one in the wild until the year I got my first one in, just five years ago. It was magical to me to look at one let alone care for one. It STILL leaves me awestruck when I have one in my clinic, my vehicle or in my hands. I am certain there are people out there who feel the same way. Its like touching a dragon the first time. After than it is simply and purely awesome. I doubt I will ever get over that feeling. I hope not. I am still humbled and amazed that this is part of my job and I really really want to show the photos and videos, educate folks on the hazards they face and express personally; I would rather never touch an eagle if it meant none would fall to harm, but since this one needs my help, ISNT THIS THE COOLEST JOB EVER??? Thats honest. Thanks for your prayers. The next report will be the one that steers his future. I SO need to release one. Let this please be the one. -Annette
