Phyllis and I hiked 10 miles round trip yesterday to the Shadow - TopicsExpress

Phyllis and I hiked 10 miles round trip yesterday to the Shadow Mountain Fire Lookout Tower. It was a Great hike (elevation gain of 1400 ft in 5 miles) and fabulous scenery. The tower is shown here with some of the views. We could see the ski runs at Winter Park that were miles away as well as the Rocky Mtn. National Park miles away the other direction. We could see Grand Lake, Shadow Mtn. Lake, Lake Granby, Columbine Lake and others. However, our biggest thrill of the day was seeing the deer and fox. We had two deer on our path that were less than 10 feet from us. Then this fox came waltzing down the path. Phyllis went into prayer mode and I went into photographer mode. We literally had to step off the path to let him pass by. He totally ignored us even though we were 3 feet or so from him. Then to top the whole day off we ran into Adrienne Belaire at a local grocery store we never go into. GOD is good
