Physical fitness will always be a part of any wellness plan. Its - TopicsExpress

Physical fitness will always be a part of any wellness plan. Its not going away. Even with chronic illness, especially with chronic illness. The body was meant to move and to strengthen. I absolutely love and believe in what I do because it works. I do not promote cures, I DO promote conditioning of mind and body. Yesterday was a great example of my own illnesses testing me. I wasnt feeling really good OR bad, yet I knew there was a greater vulnerability in myself this day. Late afternoon, I had an intense exposure/reaction in a store and by the time I left out to the parking lot, I felt nauseous, weak in the knees, head and vision pain and generally un-well. The cause and effect were evident, and I had to work through some things and use some tools in order to recoup. I had just a few hours before the fore-mentioned event/race last night, and I had to focus. See, Ive lived with these symptoms for so long (over three decades now) that even though a part of me still gets angry and fearful at times, I have also worked through them enough times to know that I can create MY own cause and effect. THAT is empowering !! Even though its not perfect, nothing is, so I go with what gets me the best results MOST of the time. I used my tools, I didnt give up, I wanted to again give myself the gift of challenging the illness and winning. I showed up, talked with friends, ran my race with consistency and did exactly as I had planned. I still felt a level of symptoms, yet part of me felt strong, so that is what I focused on. A crazy illness needs crazy determination as I like to say!! The rewards we CREATE for ourselves are truly priceless. Lisa. FG.
