Physically things are pretty good here. Emotionally- he is really down. Im feeling better about things, but I can tell he is super depressed. He is very focused on wanting some water. He knows the reasons why. He understands the logic. It doesnt matter though- hes completely fixated on getting something to drink. Thats what Im here for though. Im feeling positive today, so if he needs somebody to complain to thats my role. That and standing up to his bargaining, pleading, demanding, and cajoling for ice chips. Today Im the buffer between him and the medical staff. He is alternating between telling me how much he doesnt deserve me and plotting ways to incapacitate (maybe even kill) me just so I wont be positioned between him and the sink in his room. Yesterday I wasnt so sure he would be here to match wits with me. I love him too much to let him compromise his well being, and Im pretty sure hes too weak to do me much damage. Bring it on, Baby.
