Physiologically your body CAN NOT distinguish where a nutrient has - TopicsExpress

Physiologically your body CAN NOT distinguish where a nutrient has come from. As all it recognizes is the nutrients themselves and processes them as per usual. A starch, a sugar, an amino acid, a saturated fat etc are all processed as such. Physiologically it doesnt matter if you got your protein from whey powder or a chicken breast. Oh and please dont get all contextually confused. Oh course they are not the same in terms of total nutritional composition. Im making the point that physiologically the nutrients (protein, carbs, fats, fibre, micronutrients) coming from a particular food is irrelevant. Your total dietary intake needs to support overall dietary needs. That doesnt change nor does a single food determine the quality of ones OVERALL dietary intake and its ability to be sufficient etc. The only part of us that sees the food as a food & can tell the difference is our EYES & BRAIN. But it seems many dont understand this and maybe lacking in the brain functioning side of things......
