This is Liam (formerly known as Scar), one of two 5 month old pups that we rescued from NY ACC this week. This little 31 pound guy was surrendered by his owner. We dont have an explanation as to why he was covered with bite wounds. Its very likely that he had been attacked by one or more animals or may have been used as a bait dog by a fighting ring. Liam is going to be spending his Thanksgiving in quarantine, where he is going to have to remain for the next 6 months while he is monitored for rabies. PMAR has committed to take on Liam for the length of his confinement, cover the cost of the confinement in boarding, cover the cost of his vet bills, and eventually get him ready and placed into a new home. The minimum cost will be $2,500 assuming no unexpected vet bills. That cost is way more than we will ever recover in his adoption fee. So we really need our supporters to help cover these costs. Weve made our long term commitment to Liam and we need help to see it through to completion.
