Pick-Up Vs. Semi At The Intersection Of U.S. 421 and U.S. 50 Update posted at 10:10 a.m.: The Ripley County Sheriff’s Office has provided an update regarding a crash early Monday morning on U.S. 50 in Versailles. At about 1:27 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the intersection of U.S. 421 and U.S. 50 for a traffic crash involving a semi tractor-trailer and a pickup truck. Initial investigation suggests the semi pulling a flatbed trailer driven by Donald Gilpin, 48, of Greensburg, was attempting to turn west on U.S. 50 from the Marathon station when for reasons unknown at this time Joshua Cutsinger, 32, of Madison, drove his 1994 Chevrolet S-10 pickup under the flat bed trailer, said Sheriff Tom Grills. Cutsinger was transported to Kings Daughters Hospital in Madison. He was later transferred to a hospital in Louisville for further treatment. His current medical condition is unknown. Gilpin was not injured. The crash is still under investigation. Ripley County Sheriff’s Office deputies were assisted at the scene by Versailles Fire, Rescue 69, and Ripley County Medics. Original story posted at 6:45 a.m.: (Versailles, Ind.) - A driver was hurt after their vehicle ended up beneath a semi truck’s flatbed Monday morning in Versailles. The crash happened at about 1:30 a.m. near the Marathon at the intersection of U.S. 50 and U.S. 421. A dispatcher said that a semi was pulling out from the fuel station onto U.S. 50 when a pickup truck travelling on the highway ran into the flatbed. The driver of the pickup was taken to the hospital with injuries, the dispatcher said. The victim’s name and condition have not been released.
