Pick Yourself Up Life is not always smooth. It sometimes becomes rough. But do you quit or do you have to quit when the rough times come? There have been times when I have thought of giving up on my pursuit of success in my field of endeavor. There have been times when I have felt like “this is it. I must give up”. These feelings come because I may have faced a tough time during the performance of my duty as a Broadcast Journalist. Despite the negative feelings, I have always had the resolve to carry on. My motivation is in the fact that I will try my best not to allow that to happen again. At times, I tell myself “there is no perfect man”. Some people may criticize you for allowing certain things to happen in your line of duty. Many are those too who will look beyond the small ‘failures’, and congratulate you for a good job well done. At certain times too, when people criticize you, it is because they had so much trust in you that they never thought you will fail them that way. When that happens, apologize and move on. Never remain down when you fall. Pick yourself up and move on to greatness. For all you know, your greatness lies just few meters from where you fell, and so if you decide to remain there, your greatness will never come to you. Yesterday is gone with all its failures, if there were any. Today presents fresh opportunities. Take them as they come your way. Prepare for what tomorrow will bring. However down you may be now, remember that winners never quit, and quitters never win. So don’t remain where you are because you think or someone tells you, you are a failure. Prove the person wrong by gathering your momentum, get up on your feet, and go for GOLD! My name is Samuel Kojo Brace. Yesterday I was down. But I’m up today.
