Picnic, BBQ fun & games by the river. Come together as Sarawakians to celebrate the birth of an independent Sarawak before the formation of Malaysia. This is a casual, free and easy event with picnics, BBQ, cool river and streams to splash in, beautiful nature to relax and unwind. Lets come as united Sarawakians as we reflect on our future, anticipating a bright future as we unwind and take a step back from the hustle and bustle of our busy city life of work and studies. BBQ is number one on the list and all families are encouraged to contribute their own materials for cooking (meat, chicken, rice and vegies) sufficient for familys consumption with a little extra to offer new friends. Bring anything you feel like sharing and together we enrich this gastronomical experience. BBQ, pansuh, ikan bakar, baked potatoes, grilled sweet corns... the possibilities are endless!!!! And since we will have food and fun by the river, bring your fun wet suits and all accessories too! We will rent two chalets to fit 6 people each for admin and formal purposes. The rates of the chalets charged by the park management will be posted soon. Guests are free to rent their own chalets. OR SET UP YOUR OWN TENTS and have an adventurous night out in nature! When was the last time you slept in the jungle? We have night activities to keep everyone occupied. Or you can sit by the BBQ pit and chat all night long. Its FREE & EASY remember? Dont know where to buka puasa on 26th July? Join many Sarawakians already having fun at Sungai Congkak. There are many BBQ pits available so you can have a perfectly halal BBQ setup. BBQ your best creation as you wait for the buka puasa clock to tick tock. There are surau facilities available at the park too. So come join us this 26th July 2014 and lets have a memorable Sarawak Independence celebration!
