Picture is today from The Weather Channel.. Connie Sweezey Cothright, is originally from my hometown of Rome,NY and is a FB friend... I played baseball with her brother Alan way back when... Connie informed me that her niece (Katie) is a Meteorology student at Central Michigan University and that I should contact her...She wants to be a TV weatherperson... To make a long story short... Katie visited us at TWC today (on her spring break)... I set her up with various people across our newsroom and meteorology/on-camera areas.. Vivian Brown took her into the studio to follow one of our on air shows... This pic is Katie in the middle with me on the right... To the left is Brian Fortier... a meteorologist with us who is a Central Michigan grad... A good time was had by all .. Im so happy to see these young people come along... especially young women who get interested in weather at an early age and follow it all the way through ... there were no females in my meteorology program way back when... Connie is a very great aunt to help Katie along and I was happy to do any part... Katie is a very impressive and focused young lady
