Picture it- a lovely evening putting up and decorating my Christmas tree while watching Miracle on 34th Street (yes, Im aware that Im a dork and that its too early to put up a tree). Laughing as the puppies steal my ornaments one by one and go bananas trying to chase the garland that I trail behind me as I decorate. Then... notice that my carpet on the other side of the room is squishing as I walk on it. Water heater is leaking- 6 bath towels (then every hand and dish towel I own) later, and carpet still soaked. Maintenance came and fixed it an hour later (blocked drain, apparently). Dogs spent entire time they were here barking their heads off. All the towels getting washed and dried now to start 2nd round of sopping up the mess. I want my nice evening back!!!
