Picture it, Sicily 1943, wait no sorry wrong story! Now I was sitting at my desk the other morning, wee hours, 6AM, and I hear a chirp. Not a bird chirping to signal the start of a new day, but instead an unnatural and extremely annoying sound. Upon further research this said chirp was in fact a smoke detector indicating the need for a new battery. I jumped on a chair and pulled the offender down, dismantled and exhaled a very large sigh of relief.....Chirp, damn! So again I go in search, upstairs and the culprit is found! Dismantled, relaxed and happy! CHIRP!!!!!! I seriously put the damn thing on my back porch, only to have my best friend tell me if I had a fire and the alarm was on the porch.......Well my azz! True story!!!
