Picture it: Spring time. Flowers hanging outside on a frame outside K-Mart. A register outside at the door for payment of the plants. Miss Thang was standing there with a cart full of bedding plants, ferns, pots of impatiens. Talking--of course--to the lady who ran the register. A woman drove up in front of the store in her car and honked the horn loudly and persistently. Quick as a whip, a man came running. Literally running. He was tall and thin and looked very feeble, I thought. He opened the car door and got in as quickly as he could. The woman drove off. I looked at the cash register lady and we shook our heads. She said, Hes probably the best thing in the world. WHY. WHY. Why do people allow themselves to be abused? Because they are good hearted and dont like confrontation. They are peace loving. They would bend over backwards, do flips, even, to make life pleasant and good. The abuser plays on their goodness. The abuser is on a power trip. The abuser needs his/her head pinched off. I refuse to be abused. Never again. Never again. This is the mindset one must retain. A wise person told me, Quit giving yourself away to people who dont want you. It was the best advice I ever got. Remember--Kat told you that. You are wonderful. You are beautiful. You are unique. Be YOU. Someone wants that. Its a big world, but sometimes that someone is right close by. Pay attention. :)
