Picture this … It’s 1989 and a new sound and style has erupted in Britain, having been lovingly brought back from Ibiza in 1987, and shared in the beginning, in small clubs in unusual places … As it erupted into Orbital Rave Madness, One DJ was determined to retain the Original Attitude and Intent which had come from Ibiza, and started a little party in the dark basement of a building in Thrale St. in Southwark. By day it was a Fitness Centre, but every Saturday night ….. It became …. THE PROMISED LAND. Where a few hundred people gathered to share a beautiful energy, and open their Hearts and Minds to the music played by that one DJ … Steve Proctor. In the short 18 months or so it was open … it changed people, ALWAYS for the better, and created an understanding and togetherness which survives to this day. Fast forward to 2014 and it’s 25 years since that beautiful time, and a Technological Phenomenon called Facebook has brought a lot of those ORIGINAL people back together again and the whispers had started … “Is there going to be a 25th Anniversary celebration?” It would seem that so many of those people have grown up and experienced many different lives and ups and downs, but the thing which has remained constant throughout, is the Memories and Energy which everyone created together 25 years before.
