Pictures from Saturday evenings gala. This was such a great night! Thousands of dollars were raised for pediatric cancer research and $100k was given to begin a new research program!! Thank you to Connors Cures for hosting and thank you Stillbrave for inviting us!! We were treated so kind, and the White family hosting the gala, had taken special measures to make sure Lauryn was happy and comfortable. They asked Tom (Tatto Tom from Stillbrave) if Lauryn would like anything special for dinner. Well, Tom knows Lauryn has been craving bacon pizza and chicken noodle soup so he mentioned the idea. Wouldnt you know, the Whites put the order in with the chef at The Mayflower and Lauryn was super excited to be eating her favorite foods at dinner while the rest of us dinned on filet mignon and the best thick piece of fish Ive ever had. This girl was ready for bed, but when her chicken noodle soup came out, she perked right up and did a happy dance. It was probably the best chicken noodle soup and pizza shes ever had. There was a beautiful video that was shown during dinner. It showed a lot of children with cancer. The kids described their hopes of finding newer research to help themselves heal. This was such a powerful video... I was blown away. The children were so knowledgeable about not having a childhood because theyve been hospitalized and on restrictions for so long. I wish I could post it on here, or better yet, I wish it could be a commercial on TV. Some of the children in the video have already passed from cancer taking over so I want to share their message. Today we are resting up at RMH and Lauryn is enjoying mac-n-cheese!
