Pictures from day 4 protest: The Edo State Civil Society Organizations defeated the management of Benin Electricity Distribution Company today at the Oba Palace as they could not explain the reason they collect the monthly fixed charge on every meter, it became obvious that the fixed charge is used to fund their business as they dont have money to run their business, they called it capital investment, are we shareholders in their company or we are to do contribution (olidara) into another mans company that we will not share dividends at the end of the day, it was also clear they bought a very bad business as it appeared they bought the defunct PHCN because of the fixed charge being moved by greed not thinking of improving power supply to the people. We are continuing the protest tomorrow to further press on our demands. Join in the struggle tomorrow.
