Piedmont District Leadership Realignment Notice; I am sure many - TopicsExpress

Piedmont District Leadership Realignment Notice; I am sure many of you have become aware that I have been badly out of pocket the last couple of months having received an expected increase to my existing bill paying work statement requiring additional routine travel. With increased production rates and additional rate increases to come my available time may continue to diminish even further. All this leads me to the point of this note. I will no longer be able to function effectively as your Piedmont District Captain, picking up missions without RCs and actively monitoring and coordinating Piedmont District mission requests on the required daily basis. I simply cannot do so when I am not even in town, and have limited available time to do so when I am on the road. Piedmont District ADCs Rickey Shinn and Jon Ramm have done an exceptional job picking up the slack in my absence time and time again. My last function as the Piedmont District Captain was to request Rickey be introduced as the new interim Piedmont District Captain effective immediately, and recommend he be nominated to fill the position for the next 2 year term beginning October 1st. I believe Rickey is the best suited replacement for the Piedmont District Captain position moving forward pending confirmation by the BOD, and he certainly has earned it. I regret it has come down to this but it isnt fair to Rickey and Jon for me not to acknowledge that going forward will just be more of the same, just as the last couple of months have been. Rickey and Jon as well as the Piedmont District deserve better, and will need a 3rd Piedmont District Leader who can provide the hands on mission communication, coordination, and execution help needed to the Piedmont District. Help that I cannot provide given my new travel requirements. Going forward I will continue to Admin the Patriot Guard Riders of North Carolina facebook page with help of the other Admins as long as you will have me as I step back into an active as possible RC position. That I was given the opportunity to lead the Piedmont District in executing the PGR Mission was an honor I will always carry with me fondly and with pride. That my heroes who serve and have served our great country would follow the lead of a simple civilian in the position, was both humbling and amazing to me. I truly love this family who have restored my faith in the resilience and fortitude of Americas Patriots whom will never abandon her or her heroes and defenders. God Bless You All, See You on the Flag Line... Sincerely, Timothy (Shadofax) Smith Former District Captain/Admin, Piedmont District (704) 576-2314 [email protected] patriotguard.org
