Pieter Mynhardt White Guilt: Not For This White Guy By Chris Vaca on Sep 03, 2013 in Opinion, Politics I have heard the term “White Guilt” often in the news lately, it seems that all white people today should feel guilty because of slavery. As I sat there, I said to myself, why should I feel guilty about something that ended one- hundred and fifty years ago? My grandparents came to this country in the early 1900’s so I know they did not own slaves, so why the hell should I feel guilty, as a matter of fact, why should any white person feel guilty, if you did not own slaves why should you feel guilty? For those of us who know a little about world history know that white people were slaves long before black people were and for thousands of years, not a couple of hundred. In addition, why are only white people blamed for slavery, didn’t black tribes in Africa raid other black tribes, capture them and sell them to slave traders? It seems to me blacks are just as responsible for slavery as whites, so why is there no black guilt, after all they sold out their own people. Rush Limbaugh recently said, “This, this white guilt, it’s time for all white guilt to end, if any race of people should not have guilt about slavery, it’s Caucasians. The white race has probably had fewer slaves and for a briefer period of time than any other in the history of the world.” He also said, “Despite all that, no other race has ever fought a war for the purpose of ending slavery, which we did. Nearly 600,000 people killed in the Civil War, it’s preposterous that Caucasians are blamed for slavery when they have done more to end it than any other race, and within the bounds of the Constitution to boot.” As usual Rush is right (no pun intended) white guilt makes as much sense as black guilt, why should anyone today feel guilty about anything that happened 150 years ago, as a matter of fact, I am 61 years old, why should I feel guilty about anything that happened 62 years ago? If I was not involved, I don’t feel guilty, end of story. If we trace the beginnings of the term white guilt, it goes back to the same idiots that started political correctness, you guessed it, Liberals. White liberals, despite viewing themselves as intelligent and open-minded, are actually some of the most illiberal and narrow-minded people in society today. These Liberals remind me of the people that lived in the early days that used to walk around wiping themselves, or wearing hair shirts, they actually punished themselves to make themselves feel better, wacos then, wacos now. If you are reading this and you feel guilty about something that happened 150 years ago, you need to head to the nearest shrink and get yourself some help, because there is something mentally wrong with you, feeling guilty for something you did not take part in is not normal. On the other hand, if you do feel guilty about something that happened 150 years ago, you are most likely a Liberal, so there really is no hope for you anyway. I will tell you this, I am proud of my race; we would not have this great country if it were not for white people. I know that there are crazy Liberals with white guilt who say we stole the land from the Indians, well check your history, since time began people were conquering lands from others, the French, Spanish, English that is just the way things were back then. I could go on and on about all the inventions, the medical advancements, the great companies and many other great things that the white race has given the world, so yes, I am proud of my race, maybe I will start the NAAWP. White guilt makes as much sense as paying reparations to black people because of slavery, if there are any slaves still alive then pay them, just because a black person had an ancestor who was a slave, doesn’t mean they deserve any money, that makes as much sense as white guilt.
