Pigs In A Blanket Ingredients: •2 cups all-purpose flour •1/2 cup vegetable oil •1/2 cup boiling water •2 tablespoons cheddar cheese, grated •1/2 tsp. baking powder •1/2 tsp. salt •8-10 hot dogs, halved •1 egg, lightly beaten •1 tsp. half & half •sesame seeds, garnish Directions: 1.Preheat oven to 375º F. 2.In a large bowl or mixer, combine flour, water, oil, baking powder and salt. (Be careful with hot water.) 3.Stir in cheddar cheese and mix until dough comes together, adding 1-2 tablespoons more flour if mixture is too wet, or 1-2 more tablespoons water if it’s too dry. 4.Roll dough out on a very lightly floured surface (you shouldn’t need much flour) and divide in half. 5.Roll each half into a large rectangle that is 1/4-inch thick. 6.Using a sharp knife of pizza cutter, cut dough in a zigzag motion to form 8-10 triangles. 7.Repeat with the other half of dough. 8.Take hot dog and place horizontally on the wide end of one dough triangle. Carefully roll the hot dog away from yourself, towards the pointy end of the triangle. 9.Once wrapped, transfer to a parchment-lined baking sheet with the pointy-tip seam facing up. Repeat with remaining hot dogs and dough. 10.Place beaten eggs in a small bowl and pour in half & half. Brush the tops of “blankets” with egg wash to give them a shiny glaze once they bake. 11.Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until dough is cooked through and golden brown. 12.Remove from oven and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
