Pilgrim Building Specialist / Maintenance Person - Part Time (Tremont) Pilgrim Congregational United Church of Christ is looking for a part-time Building Specialist. Building Specialist 16 hours per week (8 hours a day, 2 weekdays a week) Starting at $11.50 an hour Basic Function: Under general supervision, is directly responsible for maintaining building and grounds in good working order. Must complete assigned tasks in a timely and professional manner and perform routine upkeep to building, equipment and its various facilities. Responsibilities: Make various building repairs that include, but are not limited to basic carpentry, mechanical repairs, minor electrical repairs, painting, light plumbing work, set-up and clean-up for events and custodial cleaning task on an as-needed basis. Replace all lightbulbs, keep an accurate inventory of supplies and submit request when supplies are needed. Basic exterior groundskeeping, removing weeds, routine gutter cleaning. Handle minor emergencies such as plunging toilets and clearing blocked pipes. Hang curtains and blinds. Performing troubleshooting tasks on equipment and assess needed repairs. Report to a supervisor; keep a running list of recently completed tasks and stay on track with monthly maintenance calendar and any immediate needs. Perform other building-related duties as assigned or directed. Position Requirements: Ability to perform heavy lifting, walking, stooping, climbing. Must have good oral, written and interpersonal communications skills. Must be flexible and able to handle multiple tasks at one time. Must have reliable transportation. Must have own basic tools, be a team player, and be reliable. Must be able to work independently. Final applicant is subject to background check.
