Pilgrimage to Italy On the Occasion of the Bicentenary of the Birth of St. John Bosco April 1-11, 2015 On January 31, 2012, the feast of St. John Bosco, Fr. Pascal Chavez, Rector Major for the Salesian Congregation, sent a letter to Salesians setting out for them a journey of preparation for the bicentennial celebration of Don Bosco’s birth: “We are approaching the bicentennial of Don Bosco’s birth, which will be celebrated on August 16, 2015. It is a very special event for us, for all the Salesian Family, and for the whole Salesian Movement, which requires an intense and profound process of preparation, so that it may prove fruitful for all of us, for the Church, for the young, and for society.” As a Salesian school and in celebration of this historic event St. Petersburg Catholic High School in collaboration with our Salesian sister school Archbishop Shaw High School in Marrero, LA is sponsoring a pilgrimage to Italy from April 1-11, 2015 which coincides with Holy Week and Easter. The pilgrimage will make stops in Turin and the surrounding villages where Don Bosco grew up (3 nights), Florence (2 nights), a stop in Sienna, and will conclude in Rome (4 nights). Cost for the trip will be twins: $4,149.00/single supplement: $499.00. The prices are per person and based on double occupancy.
