Pilgrims Scholarship! (via Hania Kryszewska) This scholarship is funded by Pilgrims to enable a practising teacher or teacher trainer to lead a talk or give a workshop for the first time at the IATEFL Annual Conference and to be published in the Teacher Trainer Journal (tttjournel.co.uk) or Humanising Language Teaching (hltmag.co.uk). Since its founding, Pilgrims has adopted humanistic approaches following the work of Carl Rogers in which the person is at the centre of the learning and teaching experience. It is not necessary to be an IATEFL member to apply. The award consists of: registration for the IATEFL Annual Conference a years IATEFL membership GBP 750.00 towards accommodation and travel costs To qualify you must: be a practising teacher or teacher trainer who has recently explored a person-centered approach or approaches in English language teaching or teacher training be a first time speaker at the IATEFL Annual Conference agree to submit an article of between 500 and 600 words reflecting on your training session by September 2015 To be considered you must submit: an online speaker proposal by the scholarship deadline of 24th July 2014 a 400-500 word summary of how you have incorporated a person-centered approach into your teaching or teacher training a passport size photo (for inclusion in the conference programme and the scholarship poster if you win, please refer to the scholarship guidelines for photo requirements) The submission deadline is 24th July 2014. Early submissions are very welcome; late submissions will not be considered. The winners will be informed by 10th September 2014. Other applicants will be contacted around 14th September. Please do NOT contact the IATEFL office about scholarship decisions; the Scholarship Working Party (SWP) will send everyone the results as soon as they are available.
