Pillar 2 - I have a vision for the Town of Harbour Grace and, if elected, I will work with the next Council to develop a plan of action for the next four years and beyond. Communication is an important pillar in that plan. That plan will ensure that council has a greater awareness of ongoing issues in the town and consults with residents before major decisions that are made. Public consultation on major issues is imperative, we need a Council that makes decisions openly and communicates effectively. I promise to fight to have council minutes posted on the Town’s website. I also promise to work to establish an email service so that all residents can be quickly and consistently updated on civic events, maintenance issues, and other matters important to our residents. Another component of the communication plan is to send a clear message to the business community in this province that we are a great place for new business opportunities. To do this, I need you to Vote for Hayward Blake on September 24.
