Pillay seeks UNHRC probe on SL 2014-03-08 The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay today urged the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) to establish its own international inquiry mechanism on Sri Lanka. Making a statement after presenting her annual report to the Council during its 25th session today, Pillay said that nearly five years on from the end of the conflict in Sri Lanka, she regrets to note that the Government has failed to satisfy the Council’s call for a credible and independent investigation into allegations of serious human rights violation
