Pine Belt Job Fair Set for November 6 at Lake Terrace Convention Center Hattiesburg–The City of Hattiesburg will host the Pine Belt Job Fair at the Lake Terrace Convention Center on Wednesday, November 6 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. The job fair is spearheaded in conjunction with the Governor’s Job Fair Network of Mississippi, the Area Development Partnership, WIN Job Center, The University of Southern Mississippi, Pearl River Community College, Antonelli College and several other partners. The event will provide an opportunity for job seekers to potentially find employment in the region. Mayor Johnny DuPree strongly urges military veterans to attend the job fair. Candidates should dress in business attire and bring several updated resumes. Employers will be seeking a variety of skill sets including individuals for management trainee programs, entry-level employees, engineers, technical-skill employees, professional-level job seekers, and a variety of others. In addition to businesses, education providers will showcase opportunities available for career advancement through technical training and higher education. “Hattiesburg is known worldwide for its low unemployment rate, and it exists because we are constantly creating programs and taking advantage of existing opportunities to ensure the financial stability of our residents,” said Mayor DuPree. “A community is always at its best when every family is thriving.” Last year, the Pine Belt Job Fair had more than 500 job seekers with 49 companies participating. More than 100 people who attended last year’s event received jobs. To learn more about the event, please visit jobfairs.ms.gov/ or contact the Area Development Partnership at 601.296.7500.
