Pink Floyds The Endless River just arrived here at Chateau Boomie. What a beautiful edition, one befitting the end of such a storied and remarkable band. These are the last recordings that featured Richard Wright on the keyboards and they sat in the can from 1999, until recently when Phil Manzanera reworked them with Andy Jackson for two years, assembling the pieces into a cohesive album that David Gilmour, Nick Mason and friends added to until they created The Endless River. David Gilmour says that Pink Floyd ends here because there can be no Pink Floyd without Richard Wright. I agree with him. As much as I love David Gilmours incredible guitar, it is the fabric woven by Richard Wright who made Pink Floyd such a unique sound. They did their friend proud and while many argue that this album is too pretty and mellow to be Pink Floyd, those of us who have been along for the ride since it all began with The Piper At the Gates of Dawn back in 1967, we know the heart of the Floyd sound was always Richard Wright. pinkfloyd/theendlessriver/about
