Pip Piper Thank you for one of the best film and television - TopicsExpress

Pip Piper Thank you for one of the best film and television industry events in a long time. I thought the breakout sessions were excellent and at long last we were not lectured at but time was given for conversations and no one was patronised. I did get frustrated in the final wrapping up session in the theatre and perhaps this is because Ive been to so many events. I must admit Im very bored with the question that goes whats wrong with Brummies shouldnt we be asking what has Yorkshire, Manchester, Cardiff done to make the film/TV industry successful in their regions?. Can we use any of those regions as a model for success in our own?. Is the film and television industry actually seen and valued as an industry by Midlands people and Midlands politicians? If it is not valued and seen as an industry by Midlands people and Midlands politicians what can we do to change that? Also I have to say we are not all shy Brummies. Many live here who come from all over the uk & the world, so shouldnt it be Greater Birmingham & the Midlands region we are fighting for especially given that our fellow Producers Forum members are spread all over the Midlands region. Lets hope we can continue the conversation but more importantly that we can rebuild our television and film industry. I dont think we only have a specific Birmingham stories to tell, I think we are an interesting and diverse collective mix of people with many stories to tell, both drama and factual which are relevant to the rest of the UK and the world. #Canwefixit? #Midlandsgottalent producersforum.org.uk/producers-forum/events/83/film-and-tv-summit-pf-and-other-partners/
