Pistol day at the range again. Wee bit different today, cause Cathy has been wanting a different gun. Her Beretta Nano is cool and all, but it has a loooong heaaavy trigger that she has really been struggling with. It makes the gun hard to shoot well and that, combined with her not enjoying the recoil from a tiny 9mm very much, has been leading to frustration for her and causing her to doubt her ability to fight with it if need be. However, I have just gotten back to work, we had bills to catch up on, and have friends to pay back, so a new gun wasnt in the works. Sean heard us talking about getting her a new gun when we could, and ponied up his summer savings to buy the Nano. He has been wanting a centerfire handgun anyway, cause shooting a .22 when we are playing with the big boys isnt as much fun. Not to mention, we can cast our own bullets and reload 9mm for the cost of .22s if you can even find the darn things. It isnt useful to him for anything more than banging at the range, but he said that was enough for him. Whatever... Anyway, Cathy took the money and got herself a new little friend, a Glock 42 .380. She had a LOT more fun shooting it, it is accurate enough, and powerful enough. Neat little gun. Range time is more fun when Cathy isnt ready to go as soon as we get there! Not to mention, she shot it better. A .380 doesnt have the oomph of the 9mm, but a gun she shoots better, and will shoot more, makes up for that. The pics are of Cathys first shots with her new Glock, and Sean trying it out and getting to shoot his first centerfire handgun.
