Pit bulls have a terrible stigma that constantly haunts them. We here at Theres Hope Dog Rescue evaluate EVERY dog individually. We have pulled/rescued and placed many pit bulls. Not all pit bulls are perfect but neither is every other breed whether pure bred or not. We constantly hear oh pit bulls how scary, we can never trust them. Or pit bulls as a family dog, your kidding. I would never allow a pit bull near my child. These remarks are awful, mindless, and are made through lack of education. With any dog including a rescue dog there is an adjustment period, and there is also a training period for both dog and adopter (experienced or not.) Every dog is different as are people. It is time for people to become more open minded and not closed minded about the bully breed. Before you pass judgment please take the time to further educate yourself and ask questions. We are rescuers are here to help everyone, not just place a dog and call it good. It is a process and at times lengthy. I will include some articles and YouTube videos for everyone to watch. We hope that although we cant change everyone that we can help educate those who are wary of the pit bull breed.
