Plan India Initiated Missing Child Alert project- Under “Missing Child Alert project” Child Assistance Booths have been established at the highly vulnerable border districts of India- Nepal and India- Bangladesh to create an information centre to prevent cross border missing & child trafficking. Secondly, the idea was to develop a linkages between community and law enforcement agencies ( police stations) to encourage community to lodge an FIR against of missing & trafficked children . Three such Child Assistance Booths were established at the border areas of Sonauli (Maharajganj), Jogbani (Araria), Nepalganj ( Baharaich) and also five Child Assistance Booths in West Bengal (Canning, Hasnabad, Murshidabad, Siliguri & Panitanki ). The information booth was also visited by Plan Netherland officials in India- Bangladesh border of West Bengal.
