Plan9 and FAST-NUCES, one of Pakistan’s best universities for computer and emerging sciences have formally agreed to form a technology incubator at FAST by February this year. The decision was made at a meeting today, on 22nd January, 2015, between Nabeel Akmal Qadeer (JD Entrepreneurship PITB), Uzair Shahid (Program Manager, Plan9) and Dr. Zafar Iqbal (Director, FAST-NU), Shafiq ur Rahman (HOD Computer Science) and Dr. Hamid Hassan (HOD FAST School of Management). This incubator will be set-up with the help of Plan9 as part of our Network Partnership Programme that is based on the Chairman PITB, Dr. Umar Saifs vision of promoting entrepreneurship throughout the province of Punjab. The establishment of an incubator within the university will encourage its students to pursue their Final Year Projects (FYP) as businesses under the supportive environment and backing of their university, and will additionally, foster research in technology and innovation.
